With all I have going on I find it very difficult to make it to a gym. But this doesn’t mean that I don’t fit in some exercise into my week. There are so many great exercise DVDs available now and workouts through game systems such as the XBOX360 or Wii and of course the ever simple exercise of just walking outside. While I love to run my knees don’t so I don’t push myself too much with that these days.

But the best way I’ve found to convince myself to take time out of my day to exercise is if I find something fun that I enjoy–or something that brings me the calmness that I need in my ever busy day!

This last week I started using a Tai Chi DVD and I love it so far. I’ll tell you more about it in next week’s re-cap. In the past I’ve had fun with the Zumba Fitness for Wii. That one can be easy to fit in because the kids enjoy dancing and jumping around with me, even if they aren’t doing the moves properly. Since I’m not spending money on a monthly gym membership, I allow myself to choose a new fitness dvd/game every so often.

    I started running a year ago and run at least three times a week. However, the weather in Colorado can be tricky! So, we bought a Kinect..and I love the track and field portion of the Kinect. It is hillarious to watch the recording of the sprint and the hurdles!

    I use the elliptical in the mornings. When school is not in session, I go to the gym for some pi-yo or Body Pump.

    Regular walks in my neighborhood or at the park are the best way for me to get exercise.

    I invested in a few 30-minute workout videos (Jillian Michaels and Jackie Warner have some great ones!). If I know I’ll have a busy day I get up 30 minutes earlier and knock one out. It doesn’t cut into my sleep too badly, and then whatever else happens during the day I know I got some exercise under my belt!

    I get on the treadmill as soon as I get back from taking my kids to school. Some days I do Turbo fire too!!

    I like to add some yoga to my afternoons and light weightlifting to my mornings.

    I try to walk 4 miles at least 3 times a week. I also love to go on nature hikes when I get a chance.

    I walk a mile during my lunch hour then do another mile after work. Great way to get in my goal of 10 miles a week.

    As soon as the kids are on the bus I like to take my dog Hank for a nice long walk at the local park.

    My favorite way is to go for walks with my children, since they love to chat it makes the time pass quickly.

    My favorite way to get exercise is by putting my grandsons in the double jogging stroller and taking a nice walk through the neighborhood. We have lots of hills so it’s a great workout.

    My favorite way of getting exercise is by walking. Helps my legs and to and extend my heart.

    Getting a bike has been great! Bike to places in your area, getting things done you already would and exercise!

    Pushing my son in the stroller is pretty much the only exercise I get these days!
